Note: Thursday German Day Events Postponed until Friday!!
Hello German Day Teachers, Judges, and Organizers!
Due to the threat of severe weather tomorrow and the possibility of losing power during a day of virtual German Day events! (Alptraum), we have decided to postpone/move all of the live contests for Thursday back to Friday. The times of the events will remain the same, and we are really hoping that all of the students will still be able to participate in their contests on Friday. If any cannot, please let me know and I will pass that info on to the judges of the contests. In a valiant attempt to wrap up German Day by the end of the week (and so that we don´t lose student enthusiasm that has built up), we will hold the Preisverleihung Awards Ceremony on Friday evening at 7:30 pm. The zoom links posted on the GD website will remain the same, so the only change is that the remaining contests will take place on Friday instead of Thursday, and the awards will also be Friday evening. We have been enjoying your students´ work and preparations, and we hope to see many of them on Friday evening. Please make your students aware of these schedule changes, and please encourage them to attend the Preisverleihung if they can! There will be a lovely presentation by our university hosts, and a PowerPoint presentation of the winning entries that you won´t want to miss! Thank you for all the hard work you have put into GD preparations, and many thanks that you have made it possible for your students to participate!!
